StudyScope is a small team building a virtual microscope with real slides for science classrooms: a catalog of deep-zoom slides, lessons built around them, and a live mode where a whole class follows the teacher's view from any browser. We work closely with teachers, ship often, and care a great deal about the details students and teachers actually see.
We don't have open roles right now. We do read every note that comes through this page, and when we start hiring we reach out to the people who left their email here first.
Who we'd like to hear from
We're a product company at heart, so most of what we'll need falls into a few areas:
- Engineers — across the web app and the services behind it, especially people who like making image-heavy, live-updating web apps fast.
- Science educators — teachers and curriculum writers who know what a good microscope lab looks like and want to help design lessons and slide sets.
- Microscopy and imaging — people who prepare, image, and annotate specimens, and who care about scientific accuracy.
- Design and support — anyone who makes software clearer for busy people, or who is good at helping teachers when something isn't working.
How we work
- Teacher-first. Every feature starts with a real classroom problem, and we'd rather do a few things well than many things adequately.
- Small and direct. Short conversations, clear ownership, and very few meetings. You'll see your work reach classrooms quickly.
- Remote-friendly. We collaborate online and keep a written record of decisions so nobody is out of the loop.
- Students never pay and never create accounts. That constraint shapes how we build, and we like it that way.
